TV Nova is expanding the footage of its main news show, Televizni noviny, to one hour as part of its coverage of the war in Ukraine. Other evening programmes will start at 20:40 instead of the usual 20:20.
During this week, TV Nova will have two crews in Ukraine. Petra Matyskova has been replaced by Lucie Hlubuchkova, who is based in Lviv and the surrounding area. At the end of the week, a second crew will arrive on the ground with Jan Zaluzsky, who will bring news from the capital.
"We continue to cooperate with other crews of our sister TV stations within CME and we also monitor the situation on the border to bring viewers up-to-date and verified information. We have one team in Poland and one in Slovakia,"
says Kamil Houska, director of news and journalism at TV Nova.
The war in Ukraine has significantly changed the structure of TV Nova's broadcasting from the first minutes of the conflict. These changes will continue to occur, and everything is adapted to the evolution of the situation, according to the broadcaster.
In addition to the extension of the news session of Televizni noviny and the shift of the start of the programmes to 20:40, Nova is preparing a special broadcast of the programme Breakfast with Nova, which is extended by about 40 minutes. The length of the Midday Television News is also being extended, and Nova is continuing to make live entries during the day.
Continuous broadcasting continues on TN Live, and information from the conflict is also available on the TN.cz website.
"We have also newly introduced Ukrainian TV news on the TN.cz website, taking over the signal from Ukrainian TV 1+1. Journalists from media groups across Ukraine contribute to the content of this news. We are fully aware that people who have managed to flee the war and are now in the Czech Republic need to have an overview of the situation at home in their mother tongue. We want to offer them this opportunity, and that is why we are glad that we had the opportunity to agree with TV 1+1 and start putting this content on our website, where it is fully available to everyone,"
adds Kamil Houska.
