TV Nova showed visualisations of a new design of its news studio. Nova intends to use it for its news and journalistic programming and selected sports events. It will start broadcasting from the redesigned premises on 5 September. The first programme to be aired from the new studio is Televizní noviny. Nova’s website tn.cz will also be redesigned as of the same date. Televizní noviny will have a new logo and a completely new graphic design. The first programme from the new studio will be hosted by Lucie Borhyová and Rey Koranteng.
The Austrian architecture and design office Veech x Veech was working on the design and implementation of the studio together with TV Nova’s team.
The centre of all news activities remains the table dominating the studio. The other part of the studio will serve to sports programmes, weather forecasts and journalistic programmes, such as Střepiny, Život ve hvězdách or Víkend. It will also be used as a pre-match show studio for UEFA Champions League broadcasts.
“New walls are of unparalleled length compared to other Czech TV stations. In future, we want to use augmented reality in the studio, applying the latest technological developments for analyses and more detailed presentations of the news,”
says Kamil Houska, Head of News.
“We have focused on combining various types of material - digital areas, Corian, wood and textiles. We want our viewers to feel the space. But we also have to work with the fact that to some extent, it is 2D space perceived through the screen,”
explains Stuart Veech, co-author of the design from Veech x Veech.
“The design used in the graphics and the studio itself goes hand in hand with the used technologies. It is modern and visually clear. The studio and the graphics are free from many classic elements. For example, the traditional globe theme will no longer be used,”
added Alan Záruba, Creative Director of TV Nova.
The concept of the start of Televizní noviny will change. Apart from other new elements, audience will see live views of the Czech Republic during the countdown of Televizní noviny. Weather forecast should be clearer and more viewer-friendly. We will use more than a hundred cameras across the Czech Republic.
Televizní noviny, Sportovní noviny, Počasí and other news shows have new logos and graphic design.
