The reality show Big Brother will return to Czech and Slovak TV screens this autumn. Nova and Markíza TV are preparing it for the autumn broadcast. Casting for the show has already begun, the winner will take home 2.5 million
"The essence of the Big Brother show is now reflected in countless other formats around the world, with the Big Brother format itself currently experiencing a rebirth in several countries. We are bringing a new generation of this show to the Czech and Slovak markets, which has never been more relevant than today, when social networks have fundamentally changed the way privacy is perceived. Our version of Big Brother will bring new elements to the show and we believe it will entertain viewers,"
says Silvia Majeská, programme director of TV Nova and TV Markíza.
The reality show Big Brother was first launched in 1999 in the Netherlands and subsequently spread around the world. The contestants live together for several weeks in a house that is isolated from the rest of the world. The housemates are continuously monitored in the house by TV cameras and personal audio microphones. During the course of the competition, they are gradually eliminated until only one is left to win the prize money.
"We are looking for interesting characters, from all corners of society, who are not afraid to enter the Big Brother house, play his game and share their stories. Those interested can apply via the casting form on the Nova and Markíza TV websites," says producer Kateřina Zavadová.
The reality show Big Borther was first broadcast by Nova in the autumn season of 2005. Only one series of the show was broadcast. At that time, it was watched on average by more than 1 million viewers over 15 years old (share 27%), source: ATO-Nielsen).
