CNN Prima News is launching a new music programme Midnight Music - Ticketless Concerts before Christmas, produced in collaboration with the Czech National Symphony Orchestra.
News and journalism will be complemented by music on CNN Prima News. It will feature nightly concerts, both weekdays and weekends. The genres will include film music, classical music and jazz. The first will air on Saturday December 21 at 11:10 p.m. on CNN Prima News.
The new format was created through a collaboration between CNN Prima News and the Czech National Symphony Orchestra (CNSO). The CNSO, for example, recorded the music for Quentin Tarantino's The Hateful Eight, which subsequently won both an Oscar and a Golden Globe.
"We are honoured to have been able to establish such a prestigious partnership. Personally, I admire their musical endeavours, which are not backed by public funding, yet achieve the highest international accolades. In the future, we plan to involve the orchestra in the production of our jingles and other original productions of Prima TV," says Aleš Pýcha, Marketing and PR Director of the Prima Group.
Viewers on news television will not miss information about current events in the news bar that accompanies the CNN Prima News broadcast. In addition, thanks to the infographic on the screen, they will learn details about the currently playing songs, authors, musicians and various interesting facts.
Scheduled Ticketless Concerts
- Hollywood Nigh - songs from films such as Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring (2001), Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone (2001) and Titanic (1997).
- Fellini 100 - a tribute to the Italian film genius and his court composer Nino Rota through beautiful melodies from Fellini's most famous films such as Sweet Life (1960) and the quartet of Oscar-winning films The Road (1954), Cabiria Nights (1957), 8½ (1963) and Amarcord (1973).
- Jan Hasenöhrl and The Loop Jazz Orchestra- Lets Remember Chet Baker - a musical tribute to the American jazz trumpeter who stunned the world.
- Jazz Efterrätt - a captivating concert full of the finest jazz performed by a well-known Prague formation from the cosy Jazz Loop club in Hostivař.
