In the number of nominations for the Czech Lion Film Awards, the films Vlny, Amerikánka, Mord and the miniseries Metoda Markovič: Hojer lead the way.

The Czech Film and Television Academy (CFTA) has presented the nominations for the 32nd annual Czech Lion film awards. 29 titles will compete for the symbolic Czech Lion statuettes in the final competition across 24 statutory categories. The number of nominations is led by Vlny, Amerikánka, Mord and the miniseries Metoda Markovič: Hojer.

The Czech Lion awards will be presented on 8 March at the Rudolfinum in Prague, during a live broadcast of Czech Television on ČT1. The ceremony will be hosted by moderator and youtuber Karel "Kovy" Kovář. The creative supervisor of the evening for the ČFTA presidium will be Matěj Chlupáček.

The nominations were decided by 228 film professionals from among the ČFTA academics. The highest number of 14 nominations was achieved by the period drama The Waves of Jiří Mádl, which recalls the events of 1968. Following Waves with 13 nominations was Viktor Taus's stylized film Amerikánka, inspired by the true story of a girl who was institutionalized during the normalization era and her longing for freedom.

Ten nominations are for Adam Martinec's feature debut Mord, a tragicomedy about a village massacre. Also advancing to the second round of voting with ten nominations is Voyo Metoda Markovič: Hojer, a platform miniseries directed by Pavel Soukup, which shows without exaggeration the real police work in the former Czechoslovakia.

The miniseries Daughter of the Nation, directed by Matěj Chlupáček and Cristina Groșan from Canal+, and the film Canal+ have five nominations each. Smetana by Mark Najbrt and Sense for Tumour by Tereza Kopáčová from Czech Television.

With four nominations, the Czech Television series Good Morning, Brno! II directed by Jan Prušinovský, the documentary film I'm Not Yet Who I Want to Be by Klára Tasovská and Jiří Havelka's feature film The Gardener's Year are in the running for the Czech Lion statuettes. Three nominations went to the animated film by Kristina Dufková Život k sežrání.
