Christmas broadcast of TV Prima will offer fairy tales, romantic films and premiere shows of its own creation.
The TV Prima's Christmas programme will feature films such as Pretty Woman, Sám doma, as well as Wes Anderson and Borat. It will also present the Czech TV premieres of Zatmění, Jedna noc and the sequel to Princezna zakletá v čase 2. Among the foreign titles will be Seveřan or Cesta do Ameriky 2. Alice Nellis and Jiří Havelka's miniseries Nahradníci will appear on the prima+ platform for the first time.
Pretty Woman will take time on 23 December, while Christmas Eve on Prima will be devoted mainly to fairy tales and Christmas films such as Krakonošův poklad, Tajemství vánočního jmelí, Lízin let do nebe, Kouzelný měšec, Když draka bolí hlava, Hrátky s čertem or the premiere of a new adaptation of the classic fairy tale Princezna na hrášku. The Christmas Eve broadcast will be filled with the traditional Sám doma and then Cesta do Ameriky.
On 25 December it will air O trpaslíku Nosovi, Rolničky, kam se podíváš or Lízino štěstí. In the premiere, viewers will be amazed by Ledové království II and Sám doma 2: Ztracen v New Yorku, and they will also be treated to Skála with Nicolas Cage and Sean Connery. On the second day of Christmas, there will be Garfield, Madla zpívá Evropě as well as the fairy tales Pyšná princezna and Princ a Večernice. It will premiere Všechny staré nože.
In the run-up to Christmas, Prima will deploy Czech films Bezva ženská na na krku (15 December), Špindl (16 December), Po čem muži touží (17 December), Ženská na vrcholu (18 December) and Pohádky pro Emu (19 December). After the holidays, Indián (Dec. 27) opens a day later with Gump – Jsme dvojka, followed by Jan Žižka.
Eclipse hits the screen for the first time on December 7, followed by One Night on December 23. Among foreign films, Seveřan (8 December), Budapešť v plamenech (15 December) and Mise pomsty (21 December) will premiere. The first night of the new year will then belong to two Oscar-nominated films - Eddie Murphy will appear in the sequel Cesta do Ameriky 2 and Boratův navázaný telefilm will make its return to the screen.
Fairy tales will have their own airtime from 8.15pm. First up will be the 2015 Walt Disney Studios feature Popelka starring Lily James (14 December), followed by Kráska a zvíře (21 December) with Emma Watson. Also arriving will be Princezna zakletá v čase (Dec. 22), including its sequel Princezna zakletá v čase 2 (Dec. 29), the ever-beloved Šíleně smutná princezna (Dec. 27), as well as the beloved Sedmero krkavců (Dec. 30).
There are also specials from Prima's own productions. Three unusual episodes will be presented in December by Máme rádi Česko. On New Year's Eve, the evening will be filled with special episodes of Inkognito and Partička.
