HBBTV SYMPOSIUM 2024 TO FOCUS ON ADDRESSABLE ADVERTISING, IP TRANSITION AND AI IMPACT

The HbbTV Association has given details of the conference programme of the HbbTV Symposium and Awards 2024. 

The annual key summit of the connected TV industry will take place on 14-15 November in London, co-hosted with UK-based platform operator Everyone TV (backed by the BBC, ITV, Channel 4 & Channel 5).

The conference will open with keynotes by HbbTV Chair Vincent Grivet, HbbTV Vice-Chair Jon Piesing and Jonathan Thompson, CEO of Everyone TV. Paul Gray (Omdia) will analyse developments in the global TV market in his keynote while a speech and roundtable will discuss how to reach IP-only households via HbbTV Operator Applications.

Deployments, monetisation, implementation challenges and solutions with HbbTV-based addressable advertising will be the focus of further sessions, followed by a keynote on the impact of AI on HbbTV-based business models. The combination of HbbTV with DVB-I for successful IP distribution strategies will be discussed in further panels and presentations along with HbbTV-based solutions to reduce the energy consumption of TV and streaming devices.

The second day will run as an unconference, providing an opportunity for focused discussions in smaller groups. Participants will decide on the agenda and topics, actively shaping and driving the sessions and conclusions.
