GOLDEN DRUM EXTENDS DEADLINE TO 4 SEPTEMBER

The Golden Drum Festival is extending the deadline for applications for this year's festival to September 4. The Young Drummers competition is open until 9 September.

This year's 30th edition of the Golden Drum festival, which will take place on 9 and 10 October in Portorož, Slovenia, has extended its deadline. Entries for the competition are open until 4 September. Entries are open to all works that have been broadcast, published or first performed between 22 August 2023 and 21 August 2024.

Agencies, advertisers, clients, design studios, production houses, media companies and other creatives from 42 countries can enter their work in six different sections: Drum One-Channel, Drum Omni-Channel, Drum Craft, Drum Creative Media Excellence, Drum Creative Business Excellence and a special All Juries section.

The festival will also introduce a brand new B2B group in the Creative Business Excellence section, offering companies the opportunity to showcase their successes in tackling the rapidly changing challenges in the industry. Categories in this group include a range of B2B-focused initiatives such as B2B Brand Re:Fresh, B2B Storytelling, etc.

Interested parties can also apply for the Game Changer group designed for campaigns that somehow break out of traditional advertising methods. This is the only group in the main competition that is open to participants from all over the world.

The festival also includes a competition for young creatives under 30 - Young Drummers - which is open until 9 September. It is organised in cooperation with the Slovenian Tourist Board. This year, with the brief "You can't spell Slovenia without love and that is why you must love it", the most creative poster idea is being sought. The winner of the competition will receive a cash prize of EUR 1,000 and a free ticket to the 30th Golden Drum festival. All shortlisted authors will then receive a free ticket to the festival.

The festival also includes a number of lectures and workshops. Speakers on stage include Aidis Dalikas, Head of Creative Performance at Aleph Group and co-founder of The C School, Adam Kerj, Creative Director at Accenture Song Europe and Chair of the Creative Business Excellence Jury, Kentaro Kimura, International Creative Director and CEO of Hakuhodo, Founder of Hakuhodo Kettle and Chair of the Omni-Channel Jury, Pum Lefebure, Co-Founder and Chief Creative Officer of Design Army and Chair of the Craft Drum Jury, Janet Levine, Global Head of Invention at Mindshare and Chair of the Creative Media Excellence Jury, Malcolm Poynton, Global Chief Creative Officer and Creative President of Cheil Worldwide, Jay Richards, CEO of Imagen Insights, Katie Sterling, CEO of consultancy WARC, Riku Vassinen, CEO of creative agency Hasan & partners, and Guy Wieynk, Global CEO of AnalogFolk Group and Chair of the One-Channel Drum Jury.
