MEDIA CLUB NOW REPRESENTS THE STREAMING SERVICE CANAL+

Media Club's video advertising space is expanding to include Canal+'s video library as of May.

Media Club adds the streaming service Canal+, which has been on the Czech and Slovak market since April last year, to its portfolio. Since May, it has been included as part of the video advertising space. The video advertising is displayed mainly on Canal+ Sport TV programmes with coverage of the English Premier League, WTA, World Padel Tour, Top 14 rugby league and Canal+ Action.

"Media Club is currently number two in the online advertising market and finding new opportunities for further growth is one of our priorities. With the acquisition of Impression Media and WeLove, we have already significantly expanded our portfolio of marketed sites and offered specialised packages to clients. Representing Canal+'s streaming platform, which focuses on contemporary fiction and sports, will allow us to improve the content offering for our video inventory," says Petr Hatlapatka, Commercial Director of Media Club's online division.

"Given the premium nature of Canal+'s services, advertising is not a major source of revenue for us. Therefore, using the Group's experience, we try to deploy it only to the extent that it does not significantly disturb the viewer. In the future, we have high hopes for online advertising, which we successfully tested and deployed during April. I am glad that we managed to agree on cooperation with the Prima Group, which is represented by Media Club and is one of the leading players in this area," says Ladislav Řeháček, VP of Canal+ Luxembourg for the Czech Republic and Slovakia.

The streaming service Canal+ has been operating in the Czech Republic and Slovakia since April 2023. The platform offers a VOD library that is divided by genre and selected titles are arranged in thematic series ranging from action classics to women-themed stories to Oscar-winning films. Among the titles on offer, European and in-house productions from Studio Canal, part of the Canal+ Group, are strongly represented. The platform also features shows from other distribution companies such as MGM, Sony, Vertical, Bontonfilm, AQS, Paramount, Media Squad, All3Media, Fremantle Media and Apple TV+.
