NOVA CINEMA CHANGES VISUAL IDENTITY AND BRAND COMMUNICATION

With the claim "Focus on Film", Nova Cinema will launch a campaign to support its new visual identity.

Nova Cinema, the thematic station of the Nova Group, will unveil its new visual style on Sunday 1 December. This will happen on the station's 17th anniversary. It will also be supported by a brand campaign.

The new visual identity is to emphasise the conveyance of an "authentic and powerful cinematic experience for the television viewer". The redesign is part of a strategic plan aimed at strengthening the position not only of the main Nova station, which underwent a redesign in August, but also of the thematic channels, specifically in terms of content, brand and visual identity.

Nova Cinema is the fourth most watched station on the Czech market. As part of its redesign, TV Nova said it was essential that the brand clearly communicated its content visually and was also easily recognisable across the spectrum of TV stations.

"Nova Cinema is not just one of the thematic stations. It's a unique brand with the ability to connect the viewer's world with the spectacular and vibrant world of cinema, allowing them to establish an up close and personal relationship with their favourite film heroes. The viewer should feel special when watching Nova Cinema. And that's how we approached the redesign," said Jana Vavreková, Nova Cinema's chief creative officer, introducing the new visual identity. "We make extensive use of lens, flare and glow effects, allowing us to play with depth and light, creating contrast and variation in the transition between content and graphics. We also typically combine blur effects and gradients with contrasting simple and clean type. This simple element of the station graphics serves us primarily for clear navigation and information for the audience," she added.



"The goal was to bring viewers a brand that is visually distinct while maintaining a distinctive elegance. Our job was not only to clearly integrate Nova Cinema into the Nova family, but also to create its own distinctive and unmistakable style that viewers will easily remember," explains marketing director Jakub Strýček.

Nova Cinema's Focus on Film campaign connects the world of film with the viewer experience, with the lens lens symbolising the world in front of and behind the camera and the eyes representing the viewer. The Focused on Film tagline highlights the station's mission to deliver quality and diverse content that offers viewers a deep emotional and visual experience. With this claim, the station communicates its intention to enable viewers to focus on the best of the world of cinema.

The campaign also focuses more on the digital environment, with a special emphasis on social networks and the novacinema.cz website.

The agency loyalkasper was involved in the creation of Nova Cinema's new visual style, with a key role played by Nova's creative department, which provided 80% of the work in-house.
