Nova TV and the Oneplay platform continue to plan for several reality show formats.
Television Nova confirmed Thursday that it is preparing new episodes of several reality show format shows. Specifically, a new series of singing Superstar, relationship Love Island, dating Bachelor, docu-reality Extrémní proměny and, most recently, reality Farma and Jáma lvová. Nova announced the upcoming news at a press conference on the planned projects of the broadcaster and the Oneplay platform (formerly Voyo).
"Reality shows, docu-reality and entertainment formats are a key element in our programming offer, which we are constantly trying to expand," says Silvia Majeská, director of TV Nova and Oneplay, adding, "In addition to new series of audience-successful formats, we are planning to offer viewers a new show Farma Česko, which has been scoring points with Slovak viewers for several seasons. We are very pleased with Extrémní proměny. We have started preparations for the next series of this project, which without exaggeration gives people a second chance at life."
New episodes of the above reality formats will appear in the upcoming autumn season 2025 and also in the spring season 2026.
Extrémní proměny first appeared on TV Nova this spring. This year's eight episodes reach an average viewership of 700 thousand viewers over 4 years old and exceed 30% share of viewership in the 15-54 audience group (30.82%, source: ATO-Nielsen). It is competing with Hrdina for the position of Wednesday night number one.
Also new last year was the launch of Bachelor Česko. The dating show, in which a wealthy groom chooses a bride, aired from autumn to the end of this January. The show achieved a 20% share in 15-54, airing in the second prime-time window.
Superstar will return to TV Nova's screens after four years and is set to be "bigger than ever". Nova last aired Superstar in the autumn of 2021. Sixteen episodes of the competition were watched by an average of 681,000 viewers over the age of 4 back then. In the younger 15-54 group, the share was 23%.
Love Island aired last fall on the thematic channel Nova Fun. The show, like other reality shows, serves as a draw for video platform Oneplay.
The launch of the reality show Farma will be a new addition. Sister show Markíza has been airing since 2011, it is the longest running reality TV show in Slovakia. It is based on the Swedish original "Farmen" and takes place on a farm where contestants cut off from the outside world take care of animals, perform tasks and compete with each other to win.
The contestants in the show Jáma lvová pitch their idea or existing business to five experienced investors. They decide to invest their own money in the best products or services and help the entrepreneurs break through.
