The Prima Group generated revenues of nearly CZK 4 billion last year, with profits exceeding half a billion.
The operator of the Prima TV group generated revenues of CZK 3.975 billion last year, up 6 percent year-on-year. The group remained in profit exceeding half a billion crowns, specifically 508 million crowns. CZK 50 million. But it was a fifth less than a year earlier, according to FTV Prima's 2022 results.
The company's management assesses last year as a successful one, despite the complications associated with the turbulent developments in the TV and online advertising market caused mainly by the waning covid-19 pandemic, the war conflict in Ukraine, the energy crisis and high inflation. It also notes that the Group has met its underlying viewership targets for 2022. It accounted for 26.42% of its commercial target group aged 15-69, up 1.34 percentage points from 2021.
"The programming strategy of Prima's main channel for 2022 continued to emphasise its own production. Therefore, the mainstay programmes remained series and entertainment programmes, or programmes of the reality genre," he notes, adding that in series production, the new series ZOO for FTV Prima maintained its position as the most watched long-running series in the entire television market.
According to management, the TV advertising market was not as turbulent in 2022 as in the previous two years, but it was not easy. FTV Prima maintained its business model of selling advertising space through its Media Club media agency, with the majority of the generated inventory continuing to be sold at a fixed price. "The high demand from advertisers for advertising inventory in both key seasons, spring and autumn, was successfully met," the annual report said.
Media Club, the Prima Group's representative office for TV, radio and internet advertising, generated revenues of CZK 3.213 billion last year (+2.5% year-on-year).
The Prima Group operates the Prima, Prima Cool, Prima Love, Prima Zoom, Prima Max, Prima Krimi, Prima Star, Prima Show, CNN Prima News and the Prima Plus channel for the Slovak market. Since February this year, it has also been operating the VOD service Prima+ (formerly iPrima.cz).
