Christmas advertising campaigns are not mere commercial sales efforts, although inspiration at a time when the hunt is on for the best gifts for loved ones certainly has its appeal. Not just for the audience, but for brands too. The pre-Christmas period is, after all, still the strongest sales season of the year. It's just that, in addition to the buying power, competition grows during this period. Brands have to invest more than ever in Christmas advertising, and Christmas campaigns have to be really special to stand out in the flood of touching, original and funny spots, which are often of high quality.
But beyond this aspect of Christmas marketing, Christmas ads have an undeniable specific overlap. As well as shopping inspiration and entertainment, they offer an opportunity to reflect on human values that are often neglected in the rest of the usually hectic seasons. Brands work with a variety of different strategies when creating Christmas ads. But whichever one creatives reach for, it's important that they can tune in to consumers and come up with creative that resonates with their soul.
