“THE MOST IMPORTANT THING FOR ME IS THE COMFORT IN THE STUDIO,” REFLECTS TV PRESENTER MARTIN ČERMÁK

He started in television as a sportscaster, now he is a news presenter. How does he perceive the difference? "With the news it's different every day. The spectrum of knowledge, events and interviews is endless," he says. How did he experience our victory at the World Cup? Was it an experience for him to film an interview with Fittipaldi? Where did he learn Portuguese so well? What was his first reaction to the offer to host Za pět minut dvanáct (In Five Minutes Twelve)? And does he manage to keep the studio guests and the audience from knowing what he's thinking?
"When you so called study hockey or football, it's easier to adapt to the fact that tournaments are going to turn out a certain way. But even when I was doing sports, I enjoyed politics,"

Martin recalls.

His partner in the news studio is his colleague Veronika Petruchová. "The bond between us is important and I can't imagine that we wouldn't get along. If something goes wrong, we automatically know how we will proceed. The most important factor is the comfort in the studio."

Is there news that hits them both emotionally? "We know how to keep our distance, and when it hits us, there's silence in the studio. Because during the news, we talk differently. The silence is proof that it has hit us," concludes journalist and presenter Martin Čermák in podcast Blízká setkání (Close Encounters).
