The sports stations of the Nova Group are acquiring the first-choice matches of the UEFA Europa and Conference Leagues.
Nova Sport will now broadcast matches from the UEFA Europa League and UEFA Conference League. From the new season, Thursday football nights on Nova Sport 5 will be dedicated to the first choice match of the UEFA Europa League or UEFA Conference League.
"The football studios will once again feature the regular experts, along with the new reinforcements we will introduce at the start of the new season. We will offer maximum service to the matches of the Czech representative in the form of our staff, who will travel with the team," says Milan Štěrba, head of Nova Sport's football section.
From the upcoming season, the UEFA Europa and Conference League will expand from 32 to 36 teams. It will switch to a league system in which clubs will be grouped together in one common group within each cup competition. Each team will be guaranteed four home and four away games. Czech football will have several representatives in both competitions.
Matches of the Europa or Conference League will be available on the recently launched Nova Sport 5, which is offered by O2 Czech Republic, Telly, Skylink and now also by Vodafone. Nova Sport 6 is available on O2 Czech Republic, Telly and again newly on Vodafone.
The UEFA Europa League and UEFA Conference League have so far been broadcast free of charge by Czech Television, while Sport 1 and Sport 2 are available on pay-TV. Their operator recently announced that it has extended the broadcasting rights for another three seasons.
