The TN Live web news service is expanding its broadcasting with new programs and increasing the number of broadcasting hours. However, it is not creating a news channel.
Starting Monday, April 28, TN Live added Rychlé noviny (Quick News) to its broadcast schedule. These are five-minute news summaries that supplement the main programs (Polední TN, Odpolední TN, Televizní noviny) several times a day. The daily political program Napřímo and the showbiz program Talku! have been joined by a new format, Naše Česko, focusing on economic, social, and ESG topics. The arrival of new programs is related to the expansion of broadcasting of TN Live to 24 hours a day. At the beginning of March, TN Live was still broadcasting around 11 hours a day.
For two weeks, TN Live has also been broadcasting morning news (Ranní noviny) as part of Snídaně s Novou, which also offers basic sports news. TN Live has also launched a separate Ranní studio, which broadcasts Monday through Friday from 6:00 to 9:00 a.m. and offers weather reports, traffic information, and news interviews with experts in addition to Ranní noviny. More content will be added gradually.
Content from TN Live is also used across other platforms such as TN.cz, Oneplay and HbbTV. According to Martin Synek, head of TN Live, the combined live and delayed viewing audience across all platforms reaches hundreds of thousands of viewers per week. Attention is also paid to the distribution of content on social networks.
TN Live also includes sports podcasts, with both new faces and existing editors appearing among the presenters, such as Rebecca Diatilová, Barbora Šimková, Bára Divišová, Petra Staňová, Kristýna Bezděková, Marek Bruna, and Michaela Indráková. According to TV Nova news director Kamil Houska, the goal is to offer modern news coverage that combines current events with thematic formats suitable for other media channels.
"Our ambition is not to create another traditional news channel; we want to focus on a combination of coverage of key events and news services, but also on podcast-type programs not only in the field of politics, but also lifestyle, healthcare, sports, education, and travel. We are already planning to use them on other platforms," said Kamil Houska, director of news at TV Nova.
