In 2023, Nova will launch several new series or premiere episodes in the original feature genre that build on stories already in the works. Most of them will start to air in January 2023. The biggest news is the narrative period series Zlatá labuť (The Golden Swan), produced by Dramedy Productions and directed by Biser A. Arichtev and Braňo Holíček.
The series the stories of people connected with the eponymous department store, set against the backdrop of historical events at the turn of the 1930s and 1940s. It is the first ever historical period series for Nova. The series was filmed in the studios of Dramedy Studios in Letňany, Prague, where the sets of the department store were built. TV Nova’s press conference for the spring fiction programmes also took place in their premises. Adam Vacula and Marta Dancingerová will play the central couple in the new series.
"In period series we look for what is similar to today's lives. Even then, everyday life was very similar to ours in many ways. We try to invite the audience to relate themselves to the story,”
described the series' producer Filip Bobinski.
According to unofficial information so far, the series Zlatá labuť should be broadcast on Thursday evenings, the time that now belongs to the series O mě se neboj (Don’t Worry About Me) which is broadcasted after the series Pan Profesor (Mr. Professor). It should start at the end of January.
Viewers will also be introduced for the first time to the series Jedna rodina (One Family), which has alternate care as its central theme. The script is written by Lucie Konečná and directed by Dan Wlodarczyk. Starting in January, the series promises new characters played by Matouš Ruml and Marek Lamborra. David Prachař and Zuzana Kajnarová are returning after six years.
The comedy series Případy mimořádné Marty (The Cases of the extraordinary Martha) will also go on air. Nova was originally supposed to air it in the autumn but has postponed its deployment until early next year. The main roles are played by Tatiana Dyková and Roman Zach.
The evening broadcast will again be based on the premiere episodes of the series Ulice (The Street). The programme of the main TV Nova channel also includes the entertainment shows Na lovu (On the Hunt) and the reality show Výměna manželek (Wife Swap). However, the entertainment and reality shows that Nova will launch in spring 2023 have not yet been presented.
"We will offer viewers a diverse range of genres spanning from traditional crime dramas to comedy-oriented series for the whole family to narrative period series. The common denominator of all the premieres is a top-notch cast, both talents of the young acting generation and acting legends,”
said Silvia Majeská, Programme Director of TV Nova, about the feature programmes.
