Vladimír Mužík, who is currently CEO of Mafra Slovakia, will be the Director of Digital Transformation and News Programming at CME (Central European Media Enterprises Limited). CME includes, among others, the domestic group Nova and Slovak Markíza.
CME said it aims to attract audiences through traditional television news and other channels such as websites and social media. Muzik is to lead strategies to leverage all of CME's digital content in collaboration with news directors across the six markets in which CME operates. He is to improve news programming formats on linear television and adapt them to different digital platforms.
"Throughout my media career, I have seen the dramatic digitization of print media. Television news is not immune to such changes. It is crucial for TV news to remain relevant thanks to the digital transformation,"
said Vladimir Muzik.
Vladimír Mužík began his career as editor-in-chief at Ringier Axel Springer Media, first in Bratislava, then in Prague, where he headed the daily Blesk. He then joined CET 21 (now TV Nova) as head of corporate communications, and in 2012 became director of news and journalism at TV Nova. In 2014, he was appointed CEO of Mafra Slovakia. According to MediaGuru.cz, he is expected to continue to participate in the management of the publishing company in some capacity.
