Paid video platform Voyo from the TV Nova group recorded 950 thousand subscribers in the Czech Republic and Slovakia at the end of this year. It will reach its target of one million subscribers even earlier than planned. It has set the target for the end of 2025.
"We want to continue at the same pace, which is why we are investing the most in content in the new year," TV Nova CEO Daniel Grunt said at a press conference on Spring 2025 on Wednesday.
The new year will also offer users several premiere shows under the Voyo Original banner. Among them is the anticipated series Studna, based on real events in a family home in Vonoklase, Central Bohemia, in February 1968. The mother's body was found charred in the house, the father's body in the well. Their 30-year-old son survived. The six-part series will star David Švehlík, Filip Červenka and Johana Matoušková. The Well, directed by Tereza Kopáčová from a script by Mir Šifra and Kristina Májová, will be the first Voyo Original of 2025. The first episode will be presented to viewers on January 10.
Voyo will also air the next season of Kral Sumavy: Agent Chodec starring Oscar Hes. It will offer six new episodes in spring 2025. Directed by David Ondříček with supervision by Damián Vondrášek.
In addition to the two feature releases, Voyo will also bring two new documentary formats. The four-part series entitled Vypada takhle policajt? will give viewers a glimpse into the life and career of Jiri Markovic - a criminalist whose methods profoundly influenced crime investigation in Czechoslovakia. The documentary features his family, colleagues, historians, judges, psychiatrists and other personalities who were part of his cases.
The series, with the working title Lebo medveď, will provide a six-episode look at a topic that divides Slovak society every year - the brown bear. Should it be regulated or continue to be protected by law? The project was directed by Slovak documentary filmmaker Miro Remo.

Only on Voyo, new episodes of Ordinace v ruzove zahrade 2 continue.
