During his 12 years at Nova TV, he has worked his way up to the highest level of presenter: he hosts the main news programme Televizní noviny and, since last year, also the new political debate For Five Minutes Twelve. But Martin Čermák is also part of the team preparing the pre-election and election broadcasts for the European Parliament elections in June.
Nova pays a lot of attention to the European elections, although most of the debates with the candidates are placed on the TN Live internet channel and not on the main Nova programme. There is certainly a logic to this: the European elections do not resonate with viewers as much as some of the domestic elections, and Nova wants to promote the TN Live platform as much as possible, which, in addition to being watched on any smart device, can be played on TVs connected to the internet using the blue button via HbbTV. But we also talked to Martin Čermák about how he got to Nova TV and what experiences he had to go through before becoming one of the key news anchors.
