The Czech Television stations achieved the highest share of the television market during this year's Christmas holidays (24-26 December 2024). In aggregate, it accounted for 44.7% in the audience group over 4 years old. It reached over 7.3 million viewers (4+) over the three days, Czech Television said on Friday, citing official ATO-Nielsen data.
"In addition to the two premiere narrative fairy tales, we brought reruns of cult films and fairy tales, as well as, for example, the ninth fairy tale for the deaf. We greatly appreciate the favour," commented the Director General of Czech Television Jan Souček.
The share of the second Nova group in the same period in the 4+ audience group was 21.3% and the third Prima group 18.6%.
Of the individual stations, CT1 recorded the highest share by a wide margin - 37% in the 4+ audience group. This was followed by Nova (14.9%), Prima (9.7%), Television Seznam (4.8%) and CT2 (3.0%). The data refer to the 4+ group in all-day broadcasting (source: ATO-Nielsen).
The most watched programme of Christmas was the Christmas Eve fairy tale Tri princezny (CT1), which, including delayed viewing, was watched by 2.36 million child and adult viewers with a viewing share of 53.39%.
