The 2024 Summer Olympics, officially the Games of the XXXIII Olympiad, will kick off in Paris on Friday 26 July. For more than two weeks, the French capital will host sports competitions in 32 sports and 329 disciplines. A total of 113 athletes from the Czech Republic will take part. The partners of the Czech Olympic Team have prepared thematic campaigns and most of them are also going to the Olympic Festival at Lake Most.
One of the general partners is ČEZ Group, which has been associated with the Czech Olympic Team since 2001. It is once again linking its campaign with the EPP mobile application Pomáhej pohybem (Help with Movement), in which people collect points through their sporting performances, which they then donate to selected charity projects.
The ČEZ campaign uses television, online, print, radio and outdoor and focuses on children and young talents who are still aiming for possible participation in one of the future Olympics. "The idea behind the campaign is that whether they become stars of top sport or stay with sports just for keeping fit and having fun, movement always makes sense," says spokesman Martin Schreier.
In addition to the campaign, ČEZ also participates in the Olympic Festival, where it is the sponsor of canoeing. The place where people will be able to try this discipline will be armored, and it will also be possible to rent paddleboards. The ČEZ Energy Zone will also be held in the spirit of water sports with competitions, quizzes, a chillout zone and a range of promotional items. It will also include ReakTour, a virtual tour of nuclear power plants, and WaterTour, which will take visitors to the Dlouhé stráně pumped storage plant in the heart of the Jeseníky Mountains.
Sazka, another general partner of the Czech Olympic Team, will focus on supporting specific Czech athletes during the Olympics. "We have prepared an image campaign to support Sazka Champs, a project we launched this May, where we directly support talented young athletes in fulfilling their dreams and inspiring the younger generation," says Sazka's sponsorship and CSR manager Dominika Němcová, adding that the campaign will run in print, outdoor, online and on social media, where the support will be most visible.
Three athletes from Sazka Champs will compete for a medal at the Olympics, namely swimmer Barbora Seemanová, BMX rider Iveta Miculyčová and archer Marie Horáčková. "We will have a social media team in Paris that will be working with the COC to produce entertaining content direct from the scene. We want to bring people closer to the atmosphere of the city during the Olympic Games and at the same time support Czech athletes in their quest for their dreams," says Němcová, adding that Sazka is not planning any activation at the Olympic Festival.
Toyota, which has been supporting Czech sport and parasport for more than 10 years, started its campaign in January this year. For the first time, it has cast its local ambassadors to promote the Olympic idea and the common team spirit. They include water slalom racer Lukáš Rohan, speed canoeist Martin Fuksa, runner Kristiina Sasínek Mäki, para-athlete in sprint and shot put b, javelin thrower Nikola Ogrodníková, swimmer Barbora Seemanová, skater Maxim Habanec and fencer Alexander Choupenitch. They are complemented by para-athlete Tereza Jakschová, para-swimmer David Kratochvíl and para-cyclist Patrik Jahoda.

At the Olympic Festival, the Japanese carmaker is partnering with a skatepark where visitors can take skate lessons or watch a Max Habance demonstration. For children, there are competitions on balance boards and skate design drawing. There will be cars on display and some of the sports brand ambassadors will also arrive as guests. The events at the festival will be covered continuously by the content team of the Czech Toyota dealership, with content used for all brand communication channels, Toyota Life magazine in print and online, social networks Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube and public relations.
As part of its general partnership, Billa has teamed up with Olympic kayaker Jiří Prskavec and cross-country skier Kristiina Sasínek Mäki, with whom it wants to "lead people to sport and good eating for generations to come". "We want to use this sporting event to bring our customers and their children to sport and a healthy lifestyle," explains Dana Bratánková, Head of Corporate Communications & Public Affairs. At Lake Most, the chain is a partner of Padel sports.
T-Mobile, one of the official partners along with Alpine Pro and Vinci Construction, is preparing a Voláme Paříž (Calling Paris) show for the Olympics. "These are calls between Olympians and their relatives and friends - either just after their performance or just from life in the Olympic Village, and we will be able to bring emotional moments from these moments. At the same time, this project will connect the Czech House and the festival in Most," says Lucie Komárková, Senior Marketing Communications Specialist at T-Mobile. The programme will be shown on Czech Team TV and all platforms of the brand and the Czech Olympic Team. "As partners of the beach volleyball duo Schweiner and Perušič, we will of course follow their journey during the tournament," adds Komárková.
On social media, T-Mobile has organised a "Reporters" competition for a trip to Paris and a visit to the Czech House. Selected customers will become reporters for one day and will bring the atmosphere and experiences directly from Paris through the magnet operator's social networks. In another competition, customers can win two nights in a tent city at Lake Most and also get discounts on tickets to the Olympic Festival through the Magenta Moments programme.
At the Olympic Festival, T-Mobile in cooperation with the Czech Cycling Federation will offer a pumptrack zone where visitors will be able to try out this discipline. The activation will also include an opportunity to recycle an old mobile phone and a competition for a new T Phone and other prizes.
