New channel Prima Port has been prepared for launch by Prima Group. The decision to launch it will be made next year.
The upcoming channel Prima Port will be launched by the Prima Group next year at the earliest. However, its launch will be decided according to the market development in the first months of the new year, the CEO of TV Prima Marek Singer told MediaGuru.cz.
"Prima Port is ready for launch. When exactly it will launch, we will decide according to the market situation. We see it as an opportunity to increase capacity in 15-54," he added.
In terms of content, Prima Port is to bring foreign films, series and possibly reality shows, with the intention of reaching a more female audience in the under-55 target group, which is considered "younger" within the TV market.
The licence for the Prima Port programme was awarded to the operator by the Radio and Television Broadcasting Council (RRTV), for both free-to-air terrestrial and internet broadcasting.
Prima is also preparing a Prima Case channel, which is also expected to target a "younger" audience of up to 55 years old, but it should be more of a male audience. The group intends to launch it in the first quarter of next year. It will bring detective titles, new shows from the true crime genre, true crime documentaries or action series to complement Prima Krimi in its portfolio, which should be reserved for older detective series.
Prima currently operates nine linear TV stations and the video platform prima+. The target group of women is predominant for the channels Prima Love, Prima Show, Prima Star, Prima Krimi and the main channel Prima. A higher share of male viewers is held by Prima Cool, Prima Zoom and partly by CNN Prima News. There is a balanced representation of men and women on Prima Max. Compared to the linear channels, prima+ reaches younger audience groups with a greater predominance of female viewers.
For the new channel, Prima Port, Prima is using the name of its former marketing project, which it launched in 2016 for directmarketing activities but discontinued after three months.
