The Prima Group has announced the appointment of Petr Kral to head the video-on-demand (VOD) and FAST channel segments.
At the beginning of September, Petr Král, online project manager, took over as director for the VOD and FAST segment within Prima Group, replacing Josef Beneš, the current director of VOD services at Prima Group , by mutual agreement.
"Given the rapid development of streaming platforms on the Czech market and the change in viewers' habits when watching video content, we plan to accelerate the growth of our streaming service. We want to offer each viewer local content according to their preferences, so we decided to join forces with Petr Kral, an experienced online matador who has been at the forefront of developing digital projects across media houses," said Prima CEO Marek Singer.
"My goal is to further expand the content of the platform so that every viewer can find their own. I see great opportunities, for example, in programmes for children and the younger generation," said Petr Král about his new role.
Petr Král has been in the online world for almost three decades. For more than eight years, he was the director of product development at Seznam.cz. For almost three years he led the digital activities of TV Nova and was behind the relaunch of the Voyo platform. At the media group Czech News Center, he held the role of Director of Paid Content, where he focused on strategy and consolidation of premium content. For the last year, he has been freelancing, consulting and mentoring.
The streaming platform prima+ has 1.2 million registered users and over 172 thousand paying customers. It offers users a choice of three tariffs, each of which allows up to five profiles.
